It's finally time--19 of us will head to Red Rooster Retreat Center for 5 days and 4 nights of friendship, food, and lots of quilting time.
This is the 3rd Joyful Journey Retreat. Those who have attended before are so eager to get back. Those who are lucky enough to get a spot due to a cancellation are so eager to get going.
My bags aren't quite all packed yet but they will be soon.
I am sure several will be working on last minute hanging sleeves for their entries to the Heritage Quilters of Huntsville Quilt Show. Mine are done, thank goodness,
This "Event" is not just for personal sewing. We make an effort to build our friendships through "20 Questions" at meals, we rearrange dining spaces so each person sits with those they might not know well, and there are prizes, swaps, and a great "Free to a Good Home" box of goodies.
This year we also have T-shirts due to lots of requests--so we made that happen:

When registration opens in September for the following year's Joyful Journey Retreat, those who attend this year get a week's advance sign-up time. Usually, all of the spots fill that week. This year we had 4 cancellations so we are excited to welcome 4 new friends to Retreat. We keep a Wait List so we can be sure all 19 spots are filled. Next year's dates are March 1-5, 2023.
I am so fortunate to have a wonderful friend serve as the Admin person--I come up with the ideas, Kathy makes them happen--we are a terrific team.
Watch for a post with lots of photos after I get home. We will have a Joyful time!
Let's quilt.

Sounds delightful, Barbara!
ReplyDeleteI am anxious for my annual retreat to start up again. Haven't had it for 2 years now. You gals have enough fun for the rest of us who aren't getting to retreats yet!! :)
