We have made it to the final wide border, a PINWHEEL Variation block. The RED Arrow shows the border:

Becky has excellent instructions and photographs to walk you through these blocks so I won't reinvent the wheel. And I must have forgotten to take pictures as I made mine.

The usual advice applies:

1. Cut accurately
2. Sew as good a 1/4" seam as you can
3. Check yourself as you go--if the units are not the right size now, they will not miraculously become the right size when you do the next step
4. Check yourself as you join 6" blocks together--pairs should be 12.5" long, two pairs are 24.5" long, etc.
5. When all 7 blocks are sewn together, they should measure 42.5" including seam allowance. If they don't, find where you went off and fix that.
6. Once the blocks are the right size, add the two outer blocks--the 6" CORNER blocks made in Months 4-7--using the narrow sashing strips to join them.

This creates the final border. Now it's time to add the narrow sashing around the four sides. There were cut and set aside in Month 7.

Here is my PRINTS VERSION in progress:

At this point your quilt measures 58.5". You are all set to make the remaining FOUR smaller outside borders.  Those are the same size as made in Months 4-7. All the cutting directions will be provided in Month 12, which will be RELEASED NOVEMBER 1.

Next week I will do two Blogs, Month 12, Part 1 and Part 2. They will link back to my earlier blogs showing the cutting changes I made in Months 4-7 when these smaller blocks were introduced.

Let's quilt.
