Design Wall Monday August 13, 2012

After a break of more than a year, I got back to my Ruffled Roses, the 2011 BOM from www.thequiltshow.com. Here is where I am today:

This is as far as I'll get in adding to the center for quite a while because the next 8 sets of instructions involve making basket blocks and elaborate pieced swag borders.  So lots more piecing but I love how it's coming!

This week I'm gathering hand projects and some machine piecing projects together so I can easily work on them when I feel able--next Monday August 20, I'm having my right knee replaced.  Five years ago I had the left replaced so I know what to expect.  That's both a blessing and a curse!  Not looking forward to this but it needs to be done so I can walk/exercise/live more easily.  Wish me luck!

Be sure to check out Judy's blog for more inspiration!

Let's quilt!

  1. Love it! I really like that lattice outer medalion section... I will have to file that away fro future use! Good luck with your knee surgery.

  5. Barbara--
This quilt is coming along wonderfully! Good luck with your surgery. Jim had his knee done 2 years ago and it has been such a good thing to get over with!! Hope the recovery goes well. Maybe you can get lots of applique done!

  7. Your quilt is beautiful. I know "looking forward" to the surgery is no fun (nor will most of the recovery time) but then good times are coming. Good to have workable projects ready and waiting.
