UPDATE: We have WINNERS! Congratulations to Susan T. And Denise--emails coming to you. Thanks you so much to all who shared this blog with friends.
As a gift, the Sunflower Quilts company sent a supply of their nifty Thread Cutters to my taping of The Quilt Show in August. These were given out as prizes to some of the lucky audience participants.
They also sent me a couple to use as giveaways--that means YOU might win one:
I have written about these cuties before: here. They are handy-dandy for separating all those chain-pieced units we sew together in long strings, much faster than using scissors. Remember my motto:
"I want the fastest method that gives me the result I want."
They don't slide around and you can easily slice apart lots of units in record time.
"My" episode of 'The Quilt Show will air February 24, 2019--that's four months from today. To celebrate that information. I'm going to give these two away now. To be eligible, leave a Comment below, telling us why you NEED this, which color you prefer, blue or orange, AND that you have shared this blog with at least one friend. One entry per email address--be sure your address appears for me---Unknowns cannot win.
Two winners will be selected Saturday October 27, 2018 so you only have 3 days to act. They will be mailed out October 29, before I leave for Houston. AND if you will be attending Houston, I will hand-deliver yours personally.
Good luck and share away!
Let's quilt.
Barbara
What a nifty tool. I had never heard of them till now. Thank you for the chances to win one.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'd like the orange one.
ReplyDeleteBlue is beautiful and there are so many triangles to cut apart. I saw your show in person in Colo. You were wonderful and so inspiring. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, how kind of you to say!
DeleteI could use one today while I’m sewing the tiny stars project. Thanks, Barbara! I like the blue one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Barbara. Looking forward to your taping. I Need the orange one so I can quickly spot it to help me finish my large and growing pile of UFOs.
ReplyDeleteI use to chain-piece units when I can, it's a good easy way. This tool will make it easier.
ReplyDeleteBarbara, that is a really cool tool. I saw something that was meant to do the same thing, but ended up being a poor design. This looks like a much better design. I think I would see orange better, but color is irrelevant. After the drawing, I will be looking for one in the stores. Thanks.
ReplyDeletewould love to have one, thanks
ReplyDeleteI never tire of seeing your "Just Take Two" quilt.
ReplyDeleteWhen I washed mine, it didn't just bleed but several of some of the reds transferred to several of the backgrounds. Enjoy your blog.
What a nifty little tool.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the many tips that you share.
This would work much better than the wood block with a hole drilled in it and my seam ripper stuck in the hole (which is what I currently use, hahaha). I don't care which color since purple isn't an option. ☺ Sharing your blog with several of my quilter friends. Thanks for the opportunity!

ReplyDeleteI would love to win this to make my chain piece cutting easier. I wish I had it when I was making my grandkids memory quilts. I like the blue, it will match my sewing room. Thanks for a chance to win.
DeleteI love to do chain piecing but never remember to buy one of these. Of course the time I remember I need one is when I am cutting squares apart and fighting with getting just the threads snipped. I would love to win one of these! and I'll be in Houston !
ReplyDeleteAnything that makes my time more efficient has to be a win-win! The blue one is my pick. Shared on Facebook and tagged a friend 😊. Thank you for the opportunity Barbara.
ReplyDeleteGosh, we have to wait until the end of February??? How exciting that is for you.
ReplyDeleteThose cutters would be great for chain piecing. I'd choose orange.
Using one of these cutters will give me much more quilting time. I prefer orange as it is one of my school colors. I have shared your blog with my sister.
ReplyDeleteBlue is my favorite but either is good. Need it for a baby quilt I am assembling right now. Sharing with a quilt sister. Thank you for this giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI NEED this on my ironing board! I have a Clover thread cutter inserted in an old wooden spool which works but I’m constantly knocking it over. If I’m the lucky one, I’d love either color! Thanks for sharing!

I could use this when I am chain piecing or when I am using my Featherweight and it doesn't trim the threads at the ends. Blue would be a great color, but I am not too choosy!! I will see you in Houston!
ReplyDeleteMy sister in law had told me about these but I hadn’t seen one until now. Thank you for the opportunity to win one!
ReplyDeleteCould definitely use one when chain piecing or with our next project - Sizzle! Orange works for me. Have fun in Houston!
ReplyDeleteI like blue and orange together! :)
ReplyDeleteI need it so I will stop snipping my fabric! Blue please!!!

ReplyDeleteI shared this on my Facebook page. Hope that counts. I will take either color!

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, Congrats about your upcoming Star Performance on the Quilt Show but I hate having to wait til Feb.!
ReplyDeleteI recently uncovered several leftover blocks I made in my first "learning to quilt" class taught by you! That was in the late 80's and it sure would have been nice to have had one of those great little thread cutter gadgets back then! If I'm not mistaken, we still used scissors and not rotary cutters plus you even taught us how to accurately cut out plastic quilt templates.
Winning a new thread cutter gadget from you would be like the on top of my quilt notions collection! Is that grammatically correct? It doesn't feel right. Should it be singular or plural or 's or s'....Hmm?
Anyhoo
Thanks

I shared to some friends!
ReplyDeleteI need this because I am way WAY behind on my Jen Kingwell Long Time Gone!! Studio was cleaned up yesterday and I’m ready to get back to it. Any color!!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm probably too late for the giveaway -- but if not, I'd love the blue one. I did mass piecing today and realized what a PAIN it was to take scissors to all the little connecting threads. I *need* this handy little tool! Ha! Cannot WAIT for your show, Barbara!!! I'm as excited as if it were my own!! Oh -- and I have shared your blog with LOTS of peoples!! :)
